Live roll call
The lecturer projects the QR code and students’ signatures fill the list beside it as they arrive. A missing student is added with a written reason, and the roll call closes once the on-screen count is confirmed.
Short answer
On the live roll call screen the lecturer projects the QR code full screen, and signatures fill the “Participants”, “Device” and “Location” tabs as they arrive. The lecturer can pause, add or remove a minute, and add a missing student with a written reason. To close, they type the on-screen participant count; a mismatch keeps the roll call open.
Live list
Signatures arrive sorted into tabs
Each signature is sent to the lecturer’s screen as soon as it is written and lands in the “Participants” list. Each row shows how the student signed (QR, unique code or by hand) and a colored status dot; a shared device or an outside participant gets its own color.
- “Participants”, “Device” and “Location” tabs each show a count
- Search by name or number; sort by name, status or distance
- Without a live connection the screen refreshes every few seconds
Manual add
A missing student is added with a reason
If a student’s phone is not working, the lecturer adds them one by one with “Add manually” and writes a reason for each; there is no way to add the whole list at once. The signature goes to the course the student is enrolled in, and every add or delete is written to the correction log.
- By default the reason needs 10 characters; filler like “test” is refused
- Your institution can require a reason list or a document attachment
- A student whose signature is deleted is notified and cannot sign again
Combined course
Same-hour sections in one roll call
A lecturer with several sections at the same hour ticks them in the “Your sections at this hour” list and opens a single roll call. One QR code is projected, and each student’s signature is written to the section they are enrolled in.
- The screen shows the extra course count and a “Courses in this session” list
- A “Course: All” filter splits participants by section
- Students of an unticked section cannot sign this roll call
Closing
The roll call closes with a count check
When the lecturer presses “End Attendance”, they type the “Participants” number shown on screen; they do not count the room, they declare the number on the list. If it does not match, the roll call stays open and there is no “finish anyway” option. The declared number, the counted signatures, who confirmed and when are stored, unsuccessful attempts included.
- The QR code stops working the moment the roll call closes
- If the list changes after closing, the gap shows in the admin report
- The count check is on by default and can be turned off in settings
No. The dialog says “Do not count the class.” The lecturer types the “Participants” number shown on the right, and both the declared and the listed number are kept as evidence.
