Appeals and exemptions
Students appeal their attendance record from the web or the mobile app; student affairs decides in time and corrects the record when needed. Students on duty or administrative leave are uploaded from Excel, and courses kept out of roll call sit on a separate list.
Short answer
In DAS students appeal attendance records on the web or the mobile app. An appeal is filed within 3 working days of the roll call; student affairs resolves it within 5. The course lecturer cannot decide alone. Exemptions are uploaded from Excel against an official letter, and each correction keeps old and new records.
Student appeal
Students can appeal from their phone
A student opens an “Attendance appeal” from “My Courses” on the web or from the course page in the mobile app, picks the roll call and writes a reason. Deadlines are stamped on the record when it is filed: 3 working days to file and 5 to resolve, with public holidays left out. The student follows the appeal under “My Appeals”.
- A late appeal is not refused; it is marked “Late filing”
- Ready topics include “I signed but it does not show”
- Students can withdraw an appeal until a decision is made
Decision and ledger
An accepted appeal corrects the record in the same step
Student affairs or a system administrator reviews the appeal; the course’s own lecturer cannot decide alone on it. On acceptance the chosen correction is applied in the same step, and if it cannot be applied the appeal is not accepted. The correction is written to the signature correction ledger with its old and new state.
- Each decision needs a reason of at least 10 characters; the student is told
- The reviewer can ask for information or refer the appeal to the board
- Signatures added or removed by hand go to the same ledger
Exemption and scope
Exemptions from Excel, excluded courses on their own list
Students on duty or administrative leave are uploaded in bulk with a ready Excel template, and no record opens without the date and number of an official letter. Each upload is previewed row by row before it is applied. Courses kept out of roll call are a separate matter: they are marked on the “Excluded Courses” list by course code or lecturer.
- Each record is either “Exempt (M)” or “Administrative leave (İZ)”
- Undo removes only that upload’s records and never touches signatures
- Only system administrators edit that list; student affairs can request
Filing is within 3 working days of the roll call in question and resolution within 5 working days of filing. The deadlines are stamped on the record when it is filed and never recalculated. If resolution runs late, the reviewer must explain the delay.
