Can students sign from a web browser?

No. Students join from the mobile app; the web panel is for following courses, the weekly timetable and attendance records.

Can I sign from someone else’s phone?

No. If your account is bound to another device, the signature is refused and the app shows the registered device and your remaining changes.

What happens if the lecturer pauses the roll call?

The app says the lecturer has paused it. When the lecturer resumes, you scan the new QR code.

What if my signature does not show in my records?

First check the week in your attendance history. If the record is wrong, you can file an attendance appeal from the course menu, and student affairs decides on it.

Short answer

During class the student opens “Join Roll Call” in the mobile app and picks “Join with QR Code” or “Join with Unique Code”. They scan the QR code on the board or type the lecturer’s 8 character code. A signature only comes from the phone registered to the account and soon also shows in the web panel’s attendance history.

Open the app in class
A roll call opens when the lecturer starts it. In the classroom, tapping join in the mobile app opens “Join Roll Call”, which asks for a method.
Choose a method
“Join with QR Code” opens the camera; “Join with Unique Code” is for typing the code by hand. Scanning needs camera permission.
Scan the QR code
Line the QR code on the board up inside the frame and hold the phone still. If the code has already changed, the app asks you to scan the new one on screen.
Or type the unique code
The code on the lecturer’s screen has 8 characters. Case does not matter and dashes or spaces are ignored; the code never contains the letters O and I or the digits 0 and 1.
Turn on location if asked
If the institution has a location rule on, the app also reads location while signing. If location services are off, the app shows a “Location is off” banner with a button to turn it on.
See the signature confirmed
The app confirms the signature. Shortly after, it also appears on the web panel home page and in the student’s attendance history.

Good to know

The first successful signature binds the phone to the account; later roll calls can only be signed from that phone.
Nobody can sign the same roll call twice, or sign another course’s roll call open at the same time.
Location is read only while joining a roll call with the app open, never in the background.
