Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data we collect when you use DYS, why we collect it and how we protect it. DYS is an attendance system built for universities by MotiveX Intelligence Anonim Şirketi. Your university, which provides the app to you, is the data controller and MotiveX is the technical provider.
Data we collect
When you use DYS we collect the following data:
- Name and university identity (student number or academician id)
- Account credentials, stored securely on the device
- Attendance records and course enrollment history
- Location at the moment of attendance
- Device information (model, operating system version)
- Profile photo (camera or gallery, optional)
- Push notification token
- Support ticket messages and attachments
Why we use your data
We use your data to run and sign your attendance, to verify that attendance is given by your physical presence, to show your courses and attendance status, to keep the app secure and to send you notifications. We do not use your data for advertising and do not sell it to third parties.
Location
Your location is used only at the moment you sign an attendance, to confirm the signature is given in the class setting. Location is not tracked continuously and not collected in the background. We do not collect location outside of attendance.
Biometric verification
Face ID or fingerprint verification is performed locally by your device operating system. Your biometric data never leaves your device and is never shared with us or your university.
Services we use
The app uses the following third party services and libraries:
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (notifications)
- Local biometric authentication (local_auth)
- Secure device storage (flutter_secure_storage)
- Location verification (geolocator)
- Device information (device_info_plus)
- Camera and gallery access (image_picker)
Security
The app protects server connections with certificate pinning, stores session data encrypted and blocks screenshots on sensitive screens. Sensitive values are redacted in logs.
Storage and transfer
Your attendance and account data is processed on the university's servers and on MotiveX cloud infrastructure. Your data is kept for the academic and legal retention periods set by the university.
Children's privacy
DYS is a university attendance system and is not directed to children. The app is used only by enrolled university students and academicians.
Your rights
You can access, correct or delete the data tied to your account. Because attendance records are the university's official record of presence, deleting those records depends on the relevant university office. See the Delete Account page for details.
