Requests
When a signature is missing because time ran out, a roll call never opened, or a class could not be held, the lecturer files a request. Student affairs decides, and an approved correction is written to the roll call at once.
Short answer
In DAS a lecturer files correction, late-open and make-up requests, and “Class not held” statements, on the web or in the mobile app. Faculty student affairs approves, rejects or returns it with a note; nobody can decide their own request. An approved correction is written to the roll call in the same step, keeping its before and after states.
Approval flow
Nobody decides their own request
The lecturer files the request from “My Requests” in the web panel or from the mobile app, and it goes to the faculty’s student affairs. Student affairs approves it, rejects it with a reason, or returns it to the lecturer for changes. The requester can never decide it, and that holds for system administrators too.
- Up to 50 requests can be approved or rejected in one bulk action
- Approvals, rejections and returns go to a history that cannot be edited
- Decisions made by a system administrator are labelled as such
Correction
A missing signature is written on approval
A student whose signature is missing because time ran out or something went wrong is added, and a wrong signature is removed. The correction is applied in the same step as the approval, after re-checking that the student is still enrolled and unsigned.
- The before and after state of the change is kept on the request
- A correction that cannot be written to the signature ledger is not applied
- A paper sign-in sheet can be attached as PDF or image, up to 15 MB
Late open and make-up
A roll call that never opened gets a timed permit
If the class was held but no roll call was opened, the lecturer asks to open it afterwards, and an approved permit lasts 12 hours. A class that could not be held is recorded with a “Class not held” statement; if it moves to another day, a make-up request backed by a board decision opens a roll call on the new date.
- Only a system administrator can extend a late-open permit
- If the board decision is missing, student affairs enters its date and number
- An approved make-up permit can be used once
Faculty student affairs approves requests for courses in its own unit. A system administrator can also decide; that decision is marked as made under system administrator authority and student affairs is notified.
